Company Profile
In 1948 Alfred Neumann founded the Neumann business, and was a cabinet
maker by trade. “What began in 1948 as a sand mining business has
blossomed into a conglomerate turning over millions annually,” Neumann
Petroleum General Manager, Charles Wright said.
Neumann Petroleum originally started trading as Gold Coast Oil and AMOCO Australia Pty Ltd in 1964 when the company was appointed the agent for AMOCO at Tweed Heads. Gold Coast Oils’ original trading area was from Coffs Harbour to the Gold Coast. In the 1980’s they became BP distributors and in 1997 the company began trading in Brisbane. The first Neumann branded service station in Acacia Ridge Brisbane began in September 1997, with Neumann Petroleum acquiring Matilda Fuels in December 2007.
In 2005 the company launched their enriched fuel, E-Gen which has 95 and 98 octanes, which was officiated by the Hon. Anna Bligh. Neumann Petroleum are currently conducting Biodiesel trials and see themselves as “leaders in the Biofuels industry”. In the same year the company launched its new, fresh, brand image at its Albion location. With approximately 100 Service Stations branded Neumann and Matilda from Maryborough to Newcastle and west to Oakey, Neumann Petroleum is contstantly expanding.
Neumann Petroleum owns and operates a customs bonded, bulk seaboard fuel terminal, located at Eagle Farm, Brisbane which was purchased from Fletcher Challenge in 2001. “Neumann Petroleum sources its petroleum products from both domestic and international refineries and sell these competitively priced fuels and lubricants to service stations, distributors, primary producers and commercial end-users. The have also developed a healthy agricultural and commercial fuel supply business and today they are the largest, privately owned independent fuel Distribution Company. Their products are absolutely guaranteed, at all times, to meet the stringent requirements established by Australian Government authorities.”
Neumann is also a major distributor of Shell lubricants and greases, and other associated products available from leading world manufacturers. Kerosene, specialty products, and drumming are also available in their offer and advice regarding service station branding is also accessible.

Motorsport
Neumann Petroleum’s dedication to performance and innovation is demonstrated in our ongoing development of cleaner and greener racing fuels. Through this commitment, we support Justin Wade who races on renewable fuels in the Queensland competition for Improved Production Touring.
Justin’s BMW M3 E36 Super Tourer is the only car in its class powered by an ethanol-enriched fuel. The fuel is a development blend of E-Gen, which contains 20 per cent ethanol and 80 per cent traditional unleaded.
Since converting to E-Gen, Justin’s race results have not only improved, but his engine is cleaner, fuel-injection service issues are non-existent and his car achieves optimum horsepower in spite of lower fuel consumption.
Throughout history, motor racing has pioneered the development of new fuels to achieve superior performance and E-Gen is no exception. As a company we believe it is the racing industry’s responsibility to show motorists that renewable fuels are better for cars and the environment, and collectively work to overcome the misconceptions.
As a championship-winning driver, Justin is ideally positioned to show Queensland’s motor racing community and the wider public that it's OK to fill up with ethanol-enriched fuel.

Justin Wade
Neumann Petroleum is a proud supporter of Queensland racecar driver Justin Wade.
Neumann’s E-Gen is the current fuel of choice for Justin, who finished fourth in the Queensland competition for improved production cars (modified road cars category) in his BMW M3 in 2007. He is the only competitor in his class using renewable fuels and has recorded outstanding results.
Justin, 41, has been racing in the improved production class for 21 years. In 1997, he was the Australian champion in this class. A fan of Eastern Creek and Lakeside Raceway and a frequent visitor to Bathurst and Phillip Island, Justin has also raced in the Formula Holden 4000 Open Wheeler and Lotus Cup competitions. He also has a passion for bikes and races off-road desert motorcycles in the Australian Safari competition. He won the title in his class in 2004.
Justin combines his love for cars with his ‘day job’ as the director of the Midas car care centre on Wynnum Road at Tingalpa. Midas Tingalpa specialises in prestige vehicles and welcomes a variety of makes and models.
